Demands met; PGI’S OT staff call off strike

The strike by the PGI’s operation theatre technical staff finally ended yesterday.  According to the PGI sources, the strike has affected over 70 % of the major surgeries. Two members of the protesting staff  sat on a chain hunger strike and  threatened to intensify their stir if their demands are not met.

The issue erupted after the HOD allegedly misbehaved with the OT workers. As per information, on Monday, OT workers had gone to the HOD with their demands, but indulged into a brawl after  Dr wig allegedly used abusive language at them.
