The deadly crash of an air ambulance in a residential area outside New Delhi late Wednesday has revived a debate on air safety in India. This has also raised troubling questions about whether the country’s air safety regulator is keeping a close enough watch on the skies. Though an independent… panel has been formed to probe major aviation accidents, clearly there are still air safety loopholes.
In Prime Debate, we discuss the air safety norms in India and whether these need a relook?
Discussing the issue will be Brig N.J.S. Sidhu (Retd) of the Army Aviation Corps; Wing Commander B. Nanda (Retd), Senior Executive Pilot, Haryana Government; K.D. Singh, Chief Engineer, Civil Aviation Department, Punjab.
