The city lawyers also came out on streets and blocked traffic at the sector-17-22 roundabout in support of Anna Hazare.
The protests and rallies in support of anna hazare were planned beforehand in chandigarh on Tuesday. However, the detention of the anti-corruption crusader early in the morning lent a different feeling to the protests. The lawyers too held a dharna and blocked traffic at the sector 17-22 roundabout to support Anna Hazare.
Meanwhile, the issue of detention of Anna Hazare didn’t go down well with the lawyers. Not only did they come out on roads and blocked traffic supporting the 73-year-old Gandhian but struck work for half an hour at the district courts. They said they will extend full support to the anti-corruption crusader in his mission.
However, later the lawyers called off work for the entire day expressing their anger over Anna’s arrest.
