The Civic body’s manpower and resource crunch in Panchkula is affecting development in the city. Though the MC is taking help from Haryana urban Development Authority, how long can the makeshift arrangement help?
All’s not well with the Panchkula Municipal Council, which is facing a manpower and equipment crunch. That has a direct bearing on developmental work, which is being held up. You can see the effect of the resource crunch in the MC on the infrastructure of the city, such as roads, streetlights and parks.
The MC did not plan to sit on this, so it has enlisted the help of some staff from the Haryana Urban Development Authority.
Chief Executive Officer of Panchkula Municipal Council, O.P. Sihag said work on sanitation in Panchkula is on and damaged infrastructure would be repaired soon.
That’s very well but the fact remains that the council cannot do much with staff borrowed from HUDA. The Council better make its own arrangements, sooner rather than later.
