Saadat Hasan Manto was a prolific storywriter of Punjab who wrote in Urdu. He was born on May 11, 1912 and lived a short life of forty-two years. He died on January 18, 1955. He wrote more then 250 stories,number of radio dramas and articles. He got appreciation and litigations under the charges of vulgarity. He wrote stories,extensively, about prostitutes, pimps and criminals. HIs open letters to different leaders are supposed to be sarcastic political commentary on his times. Experience of partition was unbearable for him as he witnessed bloodshed and bigotry of worst kind. This program is a tribute to Saadat Hasan Manto on his birth centenary.
