CTU recruitment scrapped

The entire recruitment process of 144 conductors in the Chandigarh transport department has been scrapped. In a letter, the Union Home Minister has informed the Punjab CM that recruitment has been cancelled and is under investigation.

It is believed that impersonation was rife and very few of the short-listed candidates who appeared were genuine.

Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram told the Punjab CM that he had thoroughly examined the matter in consultation with Chandigarh Administration and the UT Administrator had sent a detailed reply on the issue.
