Cotton yarn and fabric worth crore of rupees were destroyed in a fire that broke out at a spinning mill near the Cheema Chowk last evening.
A multi-storied building of Manisha Spinning Mill is located near the Cheema Chowk. The fire started from one of the floors of this mill and slowly engulfed the entire building.
A fire department official said a few workers were present inside the building when the fire broke out, but they were safely brought out before the fire could engulf the entire mill.
About 20 fire tenders were pressed into service till 9 pm to douse the flames.Short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind this fire incident.
