Villagers in Bathinda blocked the Bathinda-Ferozepur railway line
Angry residents of Aklia Kallan village in Bathinda blocked the Bathinda-Ferozepur railway line after two car passengers died as a train hit the vehicle at an unmanned crossing.
Residents demanded that the contractor constructing the rail crossing be booked. Karamjit Kaur and Dharam Singh of Khemuana village lost their lives in the mishap. Residents said a chowkidar had been stationed at the crossing but since the time that work had started to build a railway crossing, there was no one to keep an eye on train movement.
