40,000 yatris treated using traditional system of medicines

The Department of Indian System of Medicines and Homoeopathy has treated over 40,000 Amarnath pilgrims during the ongoing yatra at 10 medical aid camps established on the Balatal and Pahalgam routes.

“This year, since start of Yatra on June 25, a record number of 40,000 patients have already been provided with free consultation and treatment in medical aid camps set up along the Baltal and Pahalgam routes to the Holy Cave shrine,” an official spokesman said today. He said while 39,000 pilgrims were treated during last year’s pilgrimage, over 33,000 were treated through the traditional system of medicines in 2010.
