Despite ignoring appeals, Anna sits on fast

Ignoring appeals from his team and doctors, activist Anna Hazare is beginning his indefinite fast. He’s joining members from his team, who have been on a fast since July 25 at the capital’s Jantar Mantar.

Even as the 75 year-old says the dwindling numbers do not disappoint him and he can continue his protest fast even with the support of five people, others are hoping that the crowds will swell as Anna steps in. Key Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal, among others, has been on a hunger strike against corruption for the past four days. However, the crowd has remained thin with many raising questions if the Anna movement is losing steam.
