Chandigarh MC to crack down on encroachers

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is going to get tough with those encroaching on market verandahs and pavements.

In a meeting of the MC Enforcement Committee, it was decided to provide more manpower to the Enforcement Wing. The Enforcement Wing will get extra police force and more trucks and other equipment needed to remover encroachments from market corridors. Committee members suggested that dumped vehicles in the Enforcement stores should be auctioned as is done by the police. It was also suggested to amend the signboard policy, in light of the present scenario.
