Crack in the Shivalik Hills
In what comes as an alarming development, a deep crack has appeared on the root of the mountains near Sector 23, Panchkula. It is a mysterious development because it is not clear what caused the sound or the crack.
A long, deep crack appeared in the base of this mountain on Wednesday morning. According to area residents, a deafening sound was heard at around 11:30 am and subsequently, the base of the mountain cracked.
The gash in the earth has a circumference of around 250 ft and a breadth of 3 to four feet at some places and 2 feet at others.
