Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today appointed four-time MLA Mukesh Sharma as her Parliamentary Secretary. Sharma, who was first elected to the Delhi Assembly in 1993, was adjudged as the best legislator in 2001. The Uttam Nagar MLA also holds the post of Chairman of Public Undertakings Committee. He is also spokesperson of the Congress Legislature Party.
Senior Congress MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah had resigned from the post of Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister in March following allegations that he got his daughter admitted in a Delhi University college using fake documents. There has been speculation that Dikshit is also planning to effect a reshuffle of her Cabinet soon.
