Ruchika case: Anand Prakash appeals against closure report

In cases of torture of Ruchika Girhotra’s brother Ashu Girhotra and tampering with Ruchika’s postmortem report, Anand Prakash has filed an appeal against CBI’s closure report.

The cases could be heard on Monday. Former DGP S.P.S. Rathore has been made party in both cases. Anand Prakash said through his lawyer that he was a witness to the persecution of Ashu Girhotra, but he was not consulted before the acceptance of the closure report. He also said Ashu was stripped and paraded handcuffed through the market but the statement of witness Vijay Dheer was not taken.

Anand Prakash said he was a witness to the tampering of Ruchika’s postmortem report but was not consulted before the acceptance of the closure report. In his appeal, Anand Prakash said Ruchika’s father accepted the closure report under duress. According to the closure report, evidence in the case of persecution of Ashu Girhotra was insufficient and there was nothing to suggest tampering with the postmortem report.
