US-based NRI doctor held for raping woman
The Mumbai police on Tuesday arrested a US national of Indian origin, Dr Vikram Dravid, on charges of rape.
Dravid has been accused of raping a 38-year-old married woman who also is an NRI based in US. According to police, Dravid, had befriended the woman in 2001. In her complaint, the victim alleged that Dravid had claimed that he had supernatural powers and promised to cure her ailment. She claimed that he raped her in May 2008 when she went to his residence for treatment. Meanwhile, Dravid has been remanded to police custody till August 10
