17 farmer organisations holding ‘rail roko’ agitation
As many as 17 farmers and farm labour organisations are holding a Rail Roko agitation all over Punjab today in support of their demands.
The protesting farmers claimed that their crops were destroyed due to the insufficient rain during this monsoon season and the government should compensate them for the loss. Farmers are demanding that they should be given a six-moth relaxation period for repayment of loan and no interest should be charged.
