2 labourers killed at Sainj hydropower project
Two Nepalese workers working in a powerhouse of the 100-MW Sainj hydropower project executed by the HP Power Corporation on the Sainj river were killed while one was injured when a detonator developed a suspected leakage and exploded due to a short-circuit.
The workers have been identified as Nima Lama and Sonam Sherpa. Workers resented that the HPCL had failed to provide safety to workers at the site. Even doctor was not available, except a pharmacist, at the site.
