BJP councillors meet UT Advisor to discuss day market

BJP councillors met the UT advisor to press the case for the Mauli Jagran Day Market. They questioned the scrapping of the day market saying that it is meant to provide livelihood to people.

BJP councillors met UT Advisor K.K. Sharma to discuss the day market row. Accusing Congress councillors of needlessly politicizing the issue, they gave a memorandum justifying the establishment of the day market and questioning its cancellation. They also demanded a stay on cancellation of the day market. The delegation comprised Sanjay Tandon, Satpal Jain and Harmohan Dhawan among others.

Senior BJP leader Satpal Jain said the day market is designed to provide underprivileged people with livelihood and the Congress is unjustified in scrapping a well meant project.

Even as the row over the day market continues, those directly affected have no choice but to wait for the powers that be to restore their livelihood.
