The two students of Government Girls College in Sector 42 who were teased and thrashed by three men in broad daylight can finally hope for justice. Police now seem to be accepting the fact that the accused were let off too lightly.
Hope for justice for the girls, one of whom was teased and the other attacked, has revived. The girl who was thrashed for resisting the harassment of her friend was disappointed with the slow progress of investigations. She said the police did not record her statement. According to her, the boys teased her, attacked and tried to kidnap her.
ASI Jagdeesh Chandra, who is the investigating officer in the case, said the accused would be booked under additional sections on the basis of the statements of the complainant and her medical report.
The two girls were on their way home from college when three men teased them. When one of the girls resisted, they beat her up, injuring her on the head and the arm. The accused, identified as Lakhbir, Karan and Khushwindra were arrested but were released in a few hours.
