7 youth arrested for misleading police

Trying to mislead police personnel is a serious offense. They tried to underline the severity of the offense by coming down strongly on a group of youngsters trying to take them for a ride.

Chandigarh police arrested 7 youngsters on Friday night as they tried to fool around with them, providing them with wrong information. It was when a dispute broke out, over car parking, between two groups in Kambhwal village that one of the groups fired in the air. There was a clash between them resulting in a minor altercation. The youth were drunk and were caught at sector 22 and 23 roundabout. This is what the DSP had to say about the incident.

According to the police, the youth provided them with unreliable information and they had to rely on their own guesses. The DSP appealed to the residents to provide just the apt information.

With residents providing tainted and improper information to the cops, it has become all the more tough for them to proceed with their investigations effectively. Crime cases are already on a rise in and around the tricity and its time we deal with them effectively.
