Health Dept team inspected mithai workshops at Daria

On Tuesday teams from the Health Department fanned out in Village Daria to inspect all known units where sweets are prepared.

This business is concentrated in Daria and dozens of small workshops in the village are already running round the clock to churn out Diwali mithai. The inspection teams collected samples from each unit which will be tested in the Department’s laboratory. Sukwinder Singh, Food Safety Officer of the UT Health Department explained that the unit’s starts weeks before the actual holiday so it is important to conduct inspections at the very outset of the peak production time
