Immediately after the decision on tickets, the bickering has started within the Congress… supporters of Kewal Singh Pathania, who was a contender of ticket from Shahpur constituency, staged a protest and passed a resolution opposing the move of the party high command to give ticket to Major Vijai Singh Mankotia.
About 20 Congress leaders from the constituency, who are heading various units of the party threatened to resign if Mankotia was given the party ticket in place of Kewal Singh Pathania. Pathania’s supporters alleged that Mankotia has termed the Congress, a party of ‘Ali Baba & Chalis chor’, and now he was being given the ticket after overlooking the sincere efforts of party workers.
The tough route this year goes through some of the highest motorable passes and human settlements in the world. The motorists will compete across three categories: X-treme 4-wheelers, X-treme 2-wheelers and 60 teams in the Adventure Trial category for amateurs.
